Aimed at babies 9 to 18 months, this class takes children through a range of play activities designed to delight them and catch their attention.

Why us

Our key goals

Our first goal is for the kids to have fun in an affordable, low-stress environment that encourages curiosity, empathy, and delight in science. Currently, sessions are in Mandarin (beginners welcome) but English is also an option if there is enough demand.

Daily activities

Designed to help children realize their potential

Morning Huddles

The first 10 minutes of the activity session will include general play, group singing and set the themes for the day’s adventures. There will also be a group book reading that will set the characters and theme of the day.

Theatre and Role Play

Each lesson integrates a unique and custom play designed to reinforce the lessons of the day, with lovable characters coming to life in our very own Chip Bee Science puppet theatre! Where possible, plays will be uploaded to youtube so children can revisit them through the week. The scripts are closely aligned to the MOE P1 Mandarin curriculum vocabulary.

Science

We cover verious areas in science in an age appropriate way. Our primary goal is to establish science activities as exciting as fun, and give children a lifelong love of learning and curiousity for the world around them.

Song and Dance

Every lesson will contain numerous songs, usually a dance or physical exercise for the children, and some musical instrument play. These will be aligned to the theme of the week and where possible all links will be available on the website lesson plan page for that week.

Reading and Counting

We integrate short, popular stories in Mandarin to establish a love of reading. Each book is closely aligned to hte theme of the week and contains important moral lessons as well. Some weeks we plan to produce our own book to ensure we are able to explain concepts in an exciting, age-appropriate way. Illustrations are kindly donated by local artist and scientist Bernd Willems. Counting is supported by our counting mat, which allows children to group items by numbers in both Mandarin and English numerals.

Sensory Play and Motor Skills

Each week we guide children through fun, exciting craft activities designed to allow them to explore various sensory experiences and develop their gross and fine motor skills. These are always aligned to the theme of the week and designed to bring to life the concepts we covered earlier.
