Welcome to Week 1!
Our Curriculum Overview
We start out with simple but exciting activities to encourage the children’s attention span and cater to children of different ages, from 9 months to 3 years. As these are our first activity sessions, we will continue to learn and improve, so some things may change.
Housekeeping: Please read
- For children under three, we strongly advise parental or helper guidance during the lesson. All children under three must be accompanied by a guardian.
- Please come on time or let us know, so we can integrate your child into the class when they arrive (text 9776 4370)
- Dress to be a living art exhibition! Creativity is welcome here, and we will be playing with dirt, forest treasures, paints, and mixing cooking materials. Please leave the good clothes at home.
- We are a collaborative and this is completely non-commercial. I’m splitting tuition costs evenly amongst the group, so we can all access a fun, inclusive education. That means if you cancel at short notice, I personally have to pay for your spot out-of-pocket. That’s fine if not often and you are sick, but please give us as much notice as possible or offer to cover the class if less than 24 hours notice.
- At the moment, as we build this voluntary community, I’m covering the costs of materials and equipment. I will probably need to ask a raw materials fee at some point in the future, but will keep this as low as possible and transparently detail exactly where these costs go.
- If you have expertise teaching or in Mandarin language or any science or maths subject and can contribute to lesson plans, we would love to hear from you. We are better together.
- And of course, it needs to be stated that whilst we will take every precaution we can to ensure each child’s safety, as a private play date, we cannot accept liability beyond that of a home visit situation. As a village, we do encourage you to let us know if there is anything you would like to change or problems you see. Please also let us know of any allergies and a parental contact just to be safe.
