Shaping up with local fruits

Our book this week is all about local Singaporean fruits and their shapes. Starting with 10 minutes of free play at pre-set stations, we then engage in our book of the week “Who Stole Our Fruits? 谁偷了我们的水果”. We talk about the shapes of different fruits and seeds and solve the mystery of the forest garden thieves (or which animals might have enjoyed what fruit for dinner)!

Shape Sorting

We explore different shapes, from circles to triangles, squares and stars. Children can match the shape to the outline will count the sides of the shapes. We will also play with tessellations and have fun creating patterns!
